Trial run for 2026 turtle walks which begin on 6/17/26 and involve a presentation in the community center followed by a walk to the beach to observe a nesting sea turtle.  We will be providing orientation tonight to our volunteers.

Date: June 17, 2026

Time: 8:30 PM to midnight, or until a nesting female is observed

Location: Briny Breezes Community Center, 

5000 N Ocean Blvd, Briny Breezes, FL 33435.

Cost: Complimentary for Briny Breezes residents

Recommended age: 10+.

Capacity: Limited to 20 participants

 

What to Expect:

The evening begins with an educational presentation, where you’ll learn about sea turtles, their life cycle and, the challenges they face.  

Our experienced scouts are already searching for nesting turtles on the beach. Meanwhile, enjoy the oceanfront deck where you can explore the stars or try out our night vision goggles.  

When a loggerhead turtle comes ashore to nest, the group will be quietly guided onto the beach to observe this remarkable natural event.  

Please Note

We hope to see a nesting female, but a turtle sighting cannot be guaranteed.​ The program includes beach and sand walking up to 0.5 miles.​
